A pretty double-fronted timber Victorian home which has been modernised in the past. The rear extension is a little quirky in its design. That said, the layout and room proportions work quite well and the volume is there. So no need for any major scale extensions, which means planning issues can be avoided. Bedroom separation is good and the rear areas take nice advantage of natural sunlight via clever window/skylight placement. The house could easily be transformed with an update of materials and finishes and some basic changes, such as making the family bathroom bigger, creating access off the hallway, and reorientating the stairs. A north-facing rear and flat backyard are other pluses (there is potentially an overlooking concern, but this could be planted out). The street is pretty, containing mostly period homes of this ilk, and the position is quite good and complements the house well; close to Auburn South Primary, Auburn Village and Camberwell Junction. The only concern I can see is the car access off the rear lane, which is not ideal and could prove inconvenient if using it regularly.
