Comments on 33 Castle Street EAGLEMONT

This is a landmark property with loads and loads of history and I thank Stewart Oldmeadow from Miles Real Estate for sharing it with me. This part of Eaglemont is just so beautiful, peaceful, and tranquil. "Grandness" is probably the best single word to describe the home itself, as well as the ballroom with its stage, the study and library, the facade, and the sheer size of the home. Whilst the home overall, which was built in c1896 for shipping merchant Edmond Smith, is special, some parts are ready for some upgrading. The master bedroom is small, as is the ensuite and walk-in-robe, and the main bathroom is tired; but these are all fixes that can be relatively easily completed with the right budget for this style of home. The lower ground floor was once the servants' quarters and is not terribly big or overly comfortable. But it does complement the home and is in keeping with its history. This area, with its own bathroom, small kitchen and living area, would be a great getaway for older kids (or a place to put annoying inlaws or guests). The four car garage has been cleverly designed and is hidden from the street. The outdoor area is superb and with a block size of over 1400sqm, the backyard space is large. And then you could always wander down Awaba St to Albert Jones Reserve, lovely parkland just a minute or two away. This home is heritage listed, as it should be. The architectural features are just stunning and timeless.

Without question this is one of the most beautiful homes I have visited recently.  As a $3 to $4 million dollar buyer in this precinct, are your expectations to move into a turn key home or bask in the unique features, history and big land this home has to offer?
