This is a contemporary-style home in a period home precinct, and an averaged-sized home sitting on very large land. Although the Gascoigne Estate is traditionally known for its large period-style family homes, and this is neither, there is something about that paradox that made it feel special.  Expansive gardens front and back of the impressively wide and large block shut the city out of this single-level property. The period facade is modest in style, but the luxurious modern landscaping envelops the home. The laneway to the south provides distance from neighbouring properties, which further enhances the feel of spaciousness as well as allowing dual car/boat/trailer access to this corner property. The full-width kitchen and family areas held my attention - the design simultaneously separates while retaining a visual connection - and will create a strong appeal to families. This entire back area of the home provides full vistas to the landscaped gardens, pool and cabana. The connectivity of the open floorplan overall may be seen by some as lacking in privacy and may not suit traditional family home-buyers. However, the casual feeling inside this home makes you feel good and it is one that would allow you to bed down family roots, suiting families through all stages of life.
