This is a pretty 1930s single-level timber home which has been nicely renovated and extended. The home feels cosy and inviting, and the gas fire warms the entry on arrival. The hall passes four bedrooms before heading through to the rear kitchen/meals and living area, which transitions beautifully out to the large covered deck. The rear yard gets a big tick, with plenty of grass at the rear of the house and paving behind the carport for a basketball hoop. There is also a tan-bark area along the side for the trampoline and swing set plus a mod grass kiddies play area complete with shade-sail beside the shed and veggie-patch. With so much space outside to play, this home really feels good for a growing family. It is also secure and quite private, although it will be possible to hear road noise at times. Inside, the kitchen has a good view of the deck but the limited view of the yard is not ideal for supervising very young ones. The railing around the deck and the safety-gate are good inclusions. You could consider adding an extra gate to the other steps to completely secure this space. One of the bedrooms is on the small side and lacks robes but it does have a good view of the deck and would be useful as a study or nursery. The position of the laundry is not ideal, but the extra toilet is useful given that the home relies on just one bathroom. This is a home that offers scope to alter the layout and perhaps add an ensuite and open up the kitchen over time. It is located in a convenient pocket close to Surrey Hills Primary and within walking distance to Mont Albert Village and station. At the quoted price, it represents good buying for a younger 4-5 person family.
