On first impressions there is one word for 21-23 Thackeray - normal.
Only joking - the words that came into my mind were weird and quirky with a capital Q, left field, OMG and strange.
And on the second walk through a few more words came to mind.
However, unlike almost all other homes of "this style" - "this style" meaning being built to the owner's taste and nobody elses - unlike almost all other homes of this style, Thackeray does have a warmth about it - it does have a flow - it does have a feeling that this can be a home - not a museum or a gallery.
Frankly, I would be most surprised if some serious decluttering was not done by the new owner - no not furniture - finishes.
For many of us living there as-is, would do our heads in - but with some cosmetic renovations you could keep the bits you like and modify the bits you didn't.
The architect while obviously catering to specific requests, has also respected most of populations' feelings with regards to what is acceptable form, good flow and room separation and proportions/spaces that don't make you feel uncomfortable.
So looking at in clinically big land and in a great spot - although south facing - but light is there and more can be brought into the living areas - especially as that part of the home is single story.
Good viewing from kitchen to outside (small kids) and good separation living from bedrooms (older kids) - bathrooms work and are in the right places. Master and additional bedroom upstairs works as well.
Study and formal/informal living to the front of the home works.
Garaging is weak but there is space to fix (STCA).
Overall - looking beyond what hits you first up - you have big land, well located and a shell that can work.
I do like it - maybe that's because I'm a bit weird as well.
