Comments on 26 Walsh Street DEEPDENE

26 Walsh Street is a pretty brick 1930’s home which is appealing from the street and does not disappoint when you walk through it and it offers wonderful entertaining options. Importantly the renovation at the rear ties in very seamlessly to the original home, and that is not easy to do.

Car garaging is good (albeit for one car) as it the inside-outside connection at the rear, ideally facing the northwest. The floor plan flows well, and bedroom separation is good. To be slightly picky bathroom areas are on the small side, yet with some internal changes this could be changed, if need be. Many could be put off with the attic space as it is a little awkward with a tight hallway and sloping ceilings, yet I see this as a ‘bonus’ space rather essential component of the home.

Unrenovated versions of a home like this can struggle to sell on auction day (i.e 6 Myambert, 24 Salisbury) but they can also be well supported on auction day is renovated well. Buyers should expect good competition come auction day and be prepared for a real fight if they are to be the buyer here, one suspects.

Simone Clarke's Comments on 26 Walsh Street DEEPDENE

Often these deco style homes tend to completely miss the boat for a modern family in terms of size and proportion - meaning small and none, but people still consider them because of the warm, family, intimate flavour the style offers. Here in this house, in this renovation you have both.

I like the look from the front and the back feels really private. Downstairs is bright and flexible - 3 multiple living spaces with each possibly being dining, formal or casual. Excellent entertaining flow. Study works for me as do the practicalities of the kitchen, walk thru pantry and laundry. Upstairs I like, works and is homely. Normally into the roof doesn't do it for me - but this is fine and master is good. Ceiling heights do impact the second level. Extra rooms for lounging, studying and retreating is very good.Yes single garage is a negative however the home is super high quality and a feel

It's excellent - proportions and feel.
