The feeling when turning off Williams Road into Tashinny is one of some comfort; particularly when taking in the surrounding courts - it feels like a little private enclave on the very edge of bustling roads and popular local shopping villages. The property itself continues the feelings of good will with simple flow through living spaces to a kitchen and meals area. The kitchen seems adequate for singles to small families with its pantry and preparation area sufficient without being the masterchef style kitchen we can see in more recent times.
The property has a favourable north orientation, though it is the upstairs master that most benefits from the sunrays. The small outside courtyard, facing west, is not bad in terms of afternoon sunlight exposure. Other townhouses may have a bit more outdoor space (or not) while this one will allows enough room to breathe out, let some fresh air in and in need of very little maintenance - a good thing for the busy, the frequent traveller or lazy gardener.
The upstairs is the clincher for me. Walking back and forwards between rooms several times simply because it is comforting, made me believe this to be a key pleasure to the property. All rooms have enough size and light, including the ensuite and they flow together smoothly – a calm place to rest you down at the end of a day.
Back outside: Tashinny itself won’t take a lot of non-local traffic, however, Williams Road is busy. Right turns off Williams will require patience as well as some good manners from other drivers at times.
After 15 years or so, the stylings of the façade and interior have settled in and actually lean towards the classical end and don't feel to have dated. No major work appears pressing from an aesthetic standpoint (STBI) - the property is right at home in the location and on the site.
